Joseph S. Bertino Jr., Pharm.D. is currently a principal at Bertino Consulting, located in Schenectady, NY. He is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacology in Medicine at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, NY, NY. His research interests are varied and include work with vaccines, antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics. Dr. Bertino received the Pharm.D. degree from SUNY at Buffalo. His publications have included work in the area of antimicrobial pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and toxicity, drug-drug interactions, vaccine pharmacology and the application of pharmacogenetics to the drug development process. Dr. Bertino has served on the Food and Drug Administration’s Antiinfective and Antiviral Advisory Committees. He remains as a special government employee of the US FDA. |
