FAPA CONGRESS
FAPA has conducted biennial congresses in different member countries from 1964 up to the present. Experts in the different fields of Pharmacy practice are invited to talk in the plenary sessions and symposia. Papers and posters are presented in the nine FAPA sections.
ISHIDATE AWARDS
In 1986, FAPA started to award the Ishidate Awards in recognition of the Asian pharmacists who have made excellent contributions in the fields of Hospital Pharmacy, Scientific Research, Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Education and Community Pharmacy . The award includes a certificate of recognition, a medal and a cash reward which are donated by the Japan Pharmaceutical Association in honor of Professor Morizo Ishidate who was President of FAPA from 1975 to 1978.
FAPA DIRECTORATE
The FAPA Statutes was approved during the first assembly in 1964 and have undergone several revisions over the years. The organization is represented by the Directorate composed of the Bureau, Presidents of Pharmaceutical Associations, Section Chairs and Executive Director of FAPA College of Pharmacy.

THE FAPA BUREAU
The FAPA Bureau is composed of the President, President Elect, Vice Presidents, Immediate Past President, Honorary Presidents and the Secretary General.
FAPA SUB DIVISION
FAPA College of Pharmacy- is a subdivision of FAPA composed of the President and Executive Committee.
VISION
FAPA shall be the leading international pharmacy organization guiding Asian pharmacists and pharmacy organizations to achieve professional excellence and contribute towards making medicines safe, effective, accessible and affordable, thus ensuring optimum health outcomes.
MISSION

Establish partnerships with WHO, FIP, WPPF, SEARPF and other allied healthcare organizations in cooperation with government and other agencies; |

Keep members updated on the latest trends in the scientific fields; |
| 3. |
Promote advancement in pharmacy education; |

Encourage further development of pharmaceutical sciences; |
| 5. |
Promote harmonization of pharmacy legislation within member countries to meet the challenges of pharmacy practice; |

Work with member countries to organize professional and scientific meetings; |
| 7. |
Promote the adoption of good pharmacy practices; |
| 8. |
Encourage the publication of pharmacy journals and close communication among members; |

Promote Information Technology in pharmacy; |

Encourage networking in pharmacy. |
TYPES OF MEMBERSHIP
Membership to FAPA are categorized into
the following:

ORDINARY MEMBERS
consists of the
national pharmaceutical associations
legally constituted and representing the
pharmacy profession in their respective
countries. The member is represented in
the Directorate by the President or the
duly appointed representative with
voting rights. |

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
consists of
individual pharmacists who are active
members of national pharmaceutical
associations or participants in FAPA
Congress. |
| |
MEMBERSHIP
Application for admission must be addressed
in writing to the Federation of Asian
Pharmaceutical Associations.
Admission is approved by the Directorate
during the closed Directorate Meeting at the
FAPA Congress or by the FAPA Bureau.
